On Saturday April 24th 2010


Commencing Promptly at 13.30 hours Nominations and Requests for Inclusion of Business (PDF | RTF) on The Agenda and The Election of New Officers (PDF | RTF) must be with The Secretary of The Spitfire Society by April 9th on the pre-printed forms available from The Secretary or downloaded from this website (by clicking on either the PDF or RTF links above).

Travel and Access Details for IWM Duxford

 

Getting to Airspace at IWM Duxford by Bus
Cambridge C7 Bus Service – Saturday’s
Between Monday and Saturday the scheduled Stagecoach C7 service operates from  Bus Stop B in Emmanuel Street, via Cambridge Rail Station and Addenbrookes hospital, departing at 30 minute intervals from 8.55am and then throughout the day.

 

The return times from Imperial War Museum Duxford are on the hour and half past the hour. The last departure is at 5.30pm. We recommend that you contact Stagecoach in advance of travel to confirm all departure times. You can visit their website at www.stagecoachbus.com/cambridge/ or call 0871 200 22 33.


By Car
Duxford is south of Cambridge at Junction 10 of the M11 motorway, less than 50 miles north from central London and approximately 40 minutes from the M25 (Junction 27) via the M11, the Museum is easily accessible from the A1, A14, M1 and the North of England  - Please see www.rac.co.uk for a route planner or www.keepmoving.co.uk for real-time traffic updates.

Please note that some Satellite Navigation systems do not yet recognise the new Duxford postcode CB22 4QR but do still recognise the old post code CB2 4QR.


By Train
Cambridge railway station is served by regular trains from London Kings Cross and London Liverpool Street, with other connections nationwide. Rail passengers can then take the C7 bus service from outside the railway station.

It is essential that you have a valid Spitfire Society Membership Card to authenticate your free entry to IWM Airspace Conference Centre Duxford for the AGM. Entrance fees are normally payable directly to the airfield management at the entrance gate. They are outside the control of the society and you will be charged according to the tariff below if you do not present your membership card at the Airspace Conference Centre!

  • Child (aged 15 and under) FREE

  • Adult (aged 16-59 years)  £16.50   

  • Senior (aged 60 years and over) £13.20

  • Student (requires a valid student card)    £13.20

  • Unemployed (required proof of entitlement)  £8.25

  • Disabled Visitor - Adult, Senior or Student (proof of disability allowance required) £9.90 with one Carer (one per disabled visitor) FREE
