We are sad to report the death of Group Captain Billy Drake,
who died on August 28 aged 93.
Billy Drake was held in high regard in the RAF as one of its most colourful and successful fighter pilots, and as a man who led from the front and inspired all those who flew with him.
His great professionalism was accompanied by an infectious enthusiasm for life and mischievous sense of humour.
